Cutting Calories to Lose Weight
Losing weight isn’t the easiest thing in the world. In fact, it can actually be really difficult and at times seems impossible.
However, it doesn’t have to be. The smartest plan to lose weight is to be consistent and develop a plan you’ll actually follow.
One of the biggest reasons diets tend to fail is people severely shock their bodies by going on very strict diets. The main reason this doesn’t work is because their bodies don’t know what’s going on, and try to make up for the sudden loss in calories by being hungrier and creating strong cravings that can feel impossible to overcome.
“You have to start small,” says Holly Wyatt, MD, a clinical researcher at the Center for Human Nutrition in Denver. She goes on to say, “People tend to launch on a weight-loss program and try to change everything in their lives all at once.” No wonder so many diets fail.
So, in order to get on the right track, we’ve researched easy ways to cut calories without sending your body into shock. Here are simple things you can do to cut calories and begin your weight loss program in a way that will actually work.
Breakfast:
1- Ditch the bagel or pop tart for a slice of whole wheat bread/toast with some strawberry (or any flavored) jam.
2- Drink your coffee black. Sugar and cream easily add calories to your diet, and when you’re drinking them, they’re easy to forget. If nothing else, at least drink your latte with skim milk, minus the whip cream. You probably won’t even notice the change.
3- Eat an orange instead of drinking orange juice. You’ll still get the vitamin C, without the extra sugar and intensely packed carbs.
Lunch:
1- Go light on the cheese, if you don’t just cut it all together.
2- Try eating a wrap or pita instead of two slices of bread.
3- Get turkey in your burger, instead of beef.
4- Skip the creamy soups. Think red when it comes to soup!
5- Go for corn flour tortillas instead of their white flour counterparts.
Snacks:
Snacks are a sneaky, hidden way to really pack on the calories. Finding healthy snacks are essential. You’ll keep your metabolism fired up and working, while keeping hunger and killer cravings at bay.
1- Go for grapes instead of raisins. You’ll easily cut ½ the amount of calories right there.
2- Try eating pretzels instead of chips.
3- Popcorn! Popcorn is a great snack, without the extreme amounts of butter. Try eating kettle corn instead. Popcorn is full of fiber and will actually help keep you full longer.
Don’t get discouraged. Losing weight is possible, and it doesn’t have to take over your life. Just by making simple changes, you can drop those pounds.
Our Recommendation
Another easy thing you can do to start losing weight, is to try adding a healthy dietary supplement.
We’ve looked at some of the best diet pills available and we’d recommend Apidexra because it uses all-natural, clinically proven ingredients, including Irvingia Gabonensis, or African Mango, to help people naturally and safely lose weight.
