Hydroxycut is a product designed to help you lose weight and get rid of any excess water weight that you may have. This product uses ingredients including green tea leaf extract and caffeine—both ingredients proven to boost energy and promote weight loss. They talk about helping you mostly with the Hydroxycut name, which is a common ploy as obviously everybody has heard of them, and realistically speaking, they have a big name seen in many grocery stores, even if you have not seen the commercials. They were part of the ephedrine era, and they have a long and undisputed history.
The Good
Hydroxycut has some clinically proven ingredients as one might expect, and they have made a serious come back from the ephedrine era.
The Bad
Hydroxycut has been linked to liver damage and was recalled in 2009 because of this major side effect. In case you want to blame it on alcoholism or otherwise, the fact is that liver damage obviously takes years to build up, and one of the victims who died of complete renal failure was just 19. A little scary? We think so. Further, this product contains high levels of caffeine. Realistically speaking, it is in fact a glorified caffeine pill without the right amounts ironically to produce weight loss results.
The Skinny
Hydroxycut is not an effective supplement, and realistically obviously they did not take the time or effort after the ban to either make it effective or make it safe. With another ban that no other product since ephedrine has suffered, in terms of the companies who were in the ephedrine ban, obviously this is tainted at best, and they did not learn their lesson to say the least!
